To get over the disappointment of Shearwater cancelling their UK tour, we are delighted to be able to offer you the most inventive band to come out of Brighton as our new headliners for this show! CARAMEL JACK are (to use NYC parlance) "the jam". They defy any categorisation into a genre (not exactly americana, then). Their new album, 1900, is a smorgasbord of styles from pummelling garage to soaring sweet ballads.

Criminally under-rated (dare we say ignored - certainly in most of the local press) they are, in our opinion, the most inventive band to come out of Brighton and we're proud that the Gilded Palace has had a long association with such a great band.
There's no-one else like them.

Support from PAUL HANDYSIDE, former frontman of HURRAH! (if you're old enough to remember their brilliant indie-pop). Paul has jsut released a stunner of an album called Futures Dream - and it deserves to be huge. Still anthemic as ever, but now somehow more stately; his songs have been described as "hymnal", "epic" and "ambitious". We've been talking to Paulm for some time about doing a show: we're made up he could join this bill.

Opener JOE KIRBY, may be better known to some of you as JOEL EDWARDS. He recently adopted the new moniker to avoid confusion with another Mr. Edwards who enjoys something of a profile on Myspace (depressingly inevitable given his music's smooth AOR pop sheen).
